The Touchstone Story

Headquartered in Washington D.C., Touchstone was founded in 1991 under the name Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS), Inc. Launched to provide a unique portfolio of management consulting services, GDSS focused on bringing emerging work group technology to bear on complex business problems. Early clients included the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and Baltimore Gas and Electric.

Throughout the ‘90s, the firm worked on a variety of seminal projects that included the vision for the District of Columbia, the transformation of the World Bank, and systems dynamic demand management modeling for the Air National Guard.

In 2002, the company was renamed Touchstone Consulting Group to better embody its focus on senior leadership strategy support. In 2005, the firm was purchased by SRA International, Inc.

Today, Touchstone is a strategy and management-consulting firm that helps leaders develop, launch and manage their strategies. Touchstone’s expanded client base now includes state and local governments, non-profits and private organizations. With a team of over 200 professionals, Touchstone has helped numerous clients succeed by strengthening their focus, developing targeted strategies and measuring results.
